I guess he will now officially move from baby to toddler! They grow up so quickly! I can't believe it has already been a year since I first heard his little cries (okay, loud screams)...I love the way he continues to snuggle with me before bed every night and dread the day that I am no longer "cool enough" for hugs in front of his friends!
Wishing you a happy birthday little guy!

Okay, so the first comment never wins, but....sometimes the 2nd comment does! Here is the random number:
Congrats to VickieB who said:
"Eyetry at http://www.eyebuydirect.com/wall-of-frames-profile-15277.html"
I think Vickie did everything possible to enter the contest, so please congratulate her! I think she must really need a new pair of glasses! Vickie has 72 hours to get back to me so that I can forward her contact information along to EyeBuyDirect! Thanks to everyone that entered! I was really surprised there were less than 50 entries....especially for some really great glasses! There will be more giveaways soon, but I need to get through some birthday parties and baby showers!

Continuing series of Money Saving Mondays! I love to save money, post deals, and just in general make my dollar stretch a little further so keep up with me on Mondays for some easy ways to save money! This week, it all about how to save money when it comes to babysitting!
We all crave grown-up time, but with two young kids it can definitely be hard to come by (even with family in the area)! I thought I would put together a few ideas we had on ways to save costs on babysitters! Obviously, this gets easier as your kids get older (and as your friends get older – we were the first to have kids, so no swaps yet)!
Here are a few tips on ways to save costs on babysitters.
• The easiest way to save money on a date-night is to plan a date once the kids go to bed! You can always have a living room picnic in front of the TV while watching a great movie! The kids are sleeping, but if they really need you, you’re just down the hall!
• If you have friends with kids around the same age, swap kids with a friend. Make an arrangement to have one night a month for you to go out and your friend keeps your kids and one night a month you take your friends kids.
• There are a lot of classes at local community centers, churches, and even gyms that provide free or inexpensive childcare! Many also provide “Night Out” opportunities. Maybe, I’m too protective, but I am waiting until my kids get a little older to leave them with strangers for the evening (soon, I will let go a little bit, promise)!
• Look into a "mommies helper"! Mommies helpers are typically younger or inexperienced sitters who watch the kids while you are there so they cost less. These are perfect for single parents or just plain busy parents because it gives you an opportunity to get things done without entertaining your kids at the same time!(think power tools)
Have a great tip, please share it with me!Want to join in on Money Saving Mondays? Copy my button, post it on your blog, and leave me a comment with a link to your post (I will figure out the Mr. Linky thing soon)!

Pair this $8 coupon off your next purchase of any bag or case of cans of Hill’s Science Diet or Hill’s Prescription Diet pet food with the $10 rebate on light food (if you have previously used another brand (you have to send in the bag/upc)) HERE with your purchase between April 22 and August 26, 2009!
Total Savings of up to $18.00!! You'll have to register to print, but the coupons printed just fine and you can print two with your browser's back button! We have used Science Diet faithfully after our great dane had a food allergy to Iams, but I don't use the Light Food, so I didn't worry with the rebate! Although the website implies that the $8 coupon is only for weight control varieties, when printed, the coupon states any Science Diet food! Just thought you might want to know!

Valid for most teams, but check this website for more specifics! Valid Tuesdays May 12 - September 1, 2009! This would be a great opportunity to take the kids to a baseball game this summer! Some cities are excluded, but you probably still want to call your team's box office to see if they are participating!

To celebrate the chipping skills of PGA tour pro Briny Baird, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro will offer everyone in America a free order of the restaurant’s signature lettuce wraps with the purchase of an entrée.
Baird teed off this morning from 375 feet in the air atop the Omni Hotel and landed a golf ball inside a bulls-eye 230 yards below in the outfield of PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres. His accuracy was also celebrated with a $25,000 donation to the San Diego Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society.
If you haven't tried the lettuce wraps, they are delicious!!! You will need to enter a valid e-mail address to get your free lettuce wraps! Thanks Thrifty Jinxy for the information!

Continuing series of Money Saving Mondays! I love to save money, post deals, and just in general make my dollar stretch a little further so keep up with me on Mondays for some easy ways to save money! This is the second in a series of many money saving tips - printable coupons!
Coupons are a guaranteed way to make your dollar stretch a little further, assuming you use coupons on items you were planning to buy anyways or the coupon makes the item free! Unless you have money to spare each month, those nearly free items should be passed on unless you save those nearly free items up to donate to charity. Printable coupon sites make it easier to find coupons that match what is already on your shopping list. Just remember that you can use your Internet back button to print up to two coupons per computer. It is illegal to copy coupons that you print and stores lose money when you use fraudulent coupons so don’t do it! If you have multiple computers, feel free to print the limit of coupons on each computer! The high dollar coupons and B1G1 coupons go fast, so if you head over to any of these sites and see a great coupon, print it while you can – coupons are limited to the total number of prints!
Here are some of my favorite printable coupon sites (you’ll recognize that many match the names of the paper inserts you receive on Sundays and you don’t need to register to print the coupons here!):
SmartSource- just printable coupons, nothing fancy, but it gives you a quick look at available coupons.
RedPlum – also, if you look around the site you will find discount codes for your favorite shopping sites, entertainment, dining out, and good articles about saving money on just about everything! You can also look up weekly ads for your local grocery stores if you don’t get a paper, or it gets recycled before the ad expires!
Coupons.com – just printable coupons. You check the boxes on each page of coupons, then hit the print clipped – it just doesn’t get any easier. If you want two copies of a coupon, wait until they are finished printing, go back to view coupons, and click on over to the higher numbered pages, you should find the ones you just printed there!
If you shop at SuperTarget for groceries, you may want to check out their webpage to print grocery coupons. You can stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon for additional savings! The link for grocery coupons is at the bottom of the page to the left of center (the link seems to change, so I didn’t want to try to link directly to the grocery webpage).
Some people like CoolSavings.com, but I tend to avoid that site. I hate all the pop-ups and things you have to click through to actually get what you want. It’s a waste of time to me, and I can usually find the coupons elsewhere. I’ve also decided that it is such a waste of time, that the 50 cents I would be saving just isn’t worth the hassle!

If you've ever been to shelter, you know that all the animals seem really sad, not to mention bored! We have always made a point to donate lightly used but laundered toys to our local shelters for both the cats and the dogs! Our dog Logan was adopted from Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue and we brought a little stuffed squirrel with us when we picked him up that day! He was 9 months old when we got him, and he still loves that squirrel at the "getting old" age of 8!
Just like a child's lovey, pets need something to hold onto as well! Please take the time to donate a dog toy to your local shelter or visit the Dirty Bow Wow Toy Drive for information on donating through a local bookstore! Remember, a happy and content animal is more likely to find their forever home!
It looks like Enjoy the Ride Rewards Codes are able to be used by everyone but they have an expiration date. There are lots of codes available, so if you haven't signed up yet, you should take advantage of the opportunity! You can spend your points entering sweepstakes and instant win games on their site! With all these codes available, I am glad they are easy to copy and paste, enjoy! Currently, you can only earn points from flyers and activities on the Huggies brand websites! Hopefully someday they will give you points for buying diapers!
They are also running a daily diaper giveaway, you are entered once you sign up for the Enjoy the Ride program! There are some great prizes, so even if you don't have a little one in diapers it is worth signing up! You can always donate the diapers to a local charity or church if you won't use them!
5 additional points:
QKKZJ-MTZRZ-HPPGB - expires 8/15/09

My son loves Thomas and Friends, unfortunately most items are relatively expensive! I have really only seen discounts on Thomas items when they are on clearance at Target, or when Discount DVD has a b1g1 sale (which doesn't happen often). I am so excited, you can Save up to 57% on Thomas and Friends DVDs! right now at Amazon!
The DVD with double trains are selling for as low as $7.49! A movie with two trains! To make these special surprises (prizes to my son) last longer, I typically wrap each item separately (three gifts in one!). There are even some two DVD, two train packs for as little as $11.49! If you compare, a DVD normally sells for $10-$15, and each train sells for $9-$20! Granted, these are typically not 1st quality trains, but for younger kids or kids that really play with their toys, these are perfect! If you have a boy (or girl) that loves Thomas, pick some up today! These also make great items to tuck away in the gift closet for those unexpected birthday parties that come up!
Wow! I love it when I get to pick out 4 things for the price of 3! Right now Amazon is offering Pet Supplies(well most things anyways, over 3,000 items!) at buy 3, get the 4th FREE! Make sure the item you want to purchase states the 4 for 3 promotion under special offers, add 4 items to your shopping cart, and the cost of the cheapest item will come off during checkout! You will have a chance to review your final price before purchasing! Due to redirection, the link may take you directly to pet supplies, the 4-for-3 link is on the top left!

I was thinking that maybe my readers would like a more unique giveaway...one that really counts and shows that you appreciate what I post! I found this neat widget from Blogger Buster that shows the top ten commenters on my blog (you can see it in the left-hand column under the followers and subscribe function), and I was thinking that in June maybe I would run a giveaway that you would be entered if you made the top ten commenters? Don't know what it will be yet - but definitely something fun. Any ideas on how to make sure the comments are not just junk comments and let me know if you think this sounds like a fun giveaway? Please let me know your thoughts!
We have been ordering from Drs. Foster & Smith for years now, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to let you know that they are giving away $2,000 in prizes when you purchase BioSpot for your pets!
Also if you order two BioSpot products you will automatically get a $10 certificate! Not bad! Free money and a chance to win even more for buying products you will need this Spring and Summer anyways!
If you don't use BioSpot for your pets, there are also lots of great items in their clearance section at up to 50% off the normally great prices! We have found Drs. Foster and Smith much cheaper on many pet items when compared to stores like Petsmart and Petco! Check them out if you haven't before!
See my original post here for all the details! Use code CFFRIEND or CFCIRCLE to save on your entire purchase!

I thought I would start a series called Money Saving Mondays! I love to save money, post deals, and just in general make my dollar stretch a little further so keep up with me on Mondays for some easy ways to save money! This is the first in a series of many money saving tips - e-Coupons!
For me, coupons have become a shopping staple, but I have to admit that all that clipping and sorting can be a pain sometimes. Lately, I haven't even been keeping them sorted by week (I will have to change that, I think I just got overwhelmed and needed to take a break) (if you'll remember, I actually threw all my coupons away just a few weeks back). That’s why I’ve decided to dedicate this post to a few trusty (and free!) paperless coupon sources.
The process is simple: sign up online, load their coupons on your store’s shopping card, and they’ll automatically deduct when you scan your card at the checkout. The best part is that you can stack these coupons with paper coupons, so you can often get items for really cheap or even free! Most of these services are available at only select merchants, but they seem to keep adding more! If you read my previous blog ($20 Challenge for Charity), you've probably seen this post before but I wanted to revisit it because all of these sites keep adding more coupons each month and I've added a few more tidbits of information!
UPromise.com: Earn some extra money for college or pay off qualified student expenses with UPromise.com. The program has TONS of partners, including restaurants, grocery stores, drugstores, and online retailers. For a more detailed look at how this program works, click here!. Although the savings aren't immediate with UPromise.com, these e-coupons can be used with other e-coupons and paper coupons. Plus once you register your credit card too, you can save money for college at lots of places you might shop!
P&G e-Saver: Anyone who buys the Sunday paper for the coupons should be familiar with the monthly P&G Saver coupons for personal care and health products and a few food items. Did you know they also have the paperless version, P&G e-Saver? The paperless coupons are currently only available at Kroger stores, but anyone can sign up to receive e-newsletters featuring additional coupons and sample offers! All the sample and coupon offers are on the same page, so it makes it very easy to navigate! Like others, you can use the e-coupons along with the paper coupons from the Sunday insert!
Shortcuts: Shortcuts is easy to use, and they offer coupons for a variety of brand name items. You can save up to 50 coupons at a time on your grocery card, create a grocery list, and receive e-mail notifications based on how much you saved during a shopping trip or new coupons that are available. Right now, Shortcuts is only available at about a dozen or so partner stores, but they are always accepting requests for more stores. If you store isn't included, you should ask! Plus, shortcuts will send you reminders when your coupons are expiring or when they add new coupons!
Cellfire: With Cellfire, you have the option of loading coupons onto a store card or downloading them to your cell phone. In addition to grocery coupons, you can also get discounts for restaurants, movie rentals, and more! Sign up and enter your zip code to check out your local deals. One plus - no spam on your cell phone (at least I haven't gotten any in the three plus months I've been using cellfire). Previously, Cellfire only had e-coupons in my area for Kroger, but recently has added Randalls and Tom Thumb. In addition, you can have cellfire send your cellphone coupon codes that can be used at retailers such as Best Buy and Payless Shoes!
If anyone knows of any other good e-coupon sources, just let me know and I’ll feature them in a future post! Plus I would love to check them out! This is truly the easy way to save money, and since the savings are automatic at checkout, you don't have to worry about forgetting to hand over your coupons! Have questions about e-coupons? Leave me a comment, I will try my best to answer them!
Want to join in on Money Saving Mondays? Copy my button, post it on your blog, and leave me a comment with a link to your post (I will figure out the Mr. Linky thing soon)!
