Giveaway & the Uncle Ben's Mom Influencer Event with the Sneaky Chef!

It was so great seeing Holly (June Cleaver Nirvana, B2B, Burbmom), Tamona (Tamona’s Tips), Dian(Grocery Shop for Free) and meeting Amy (iheartfaces), Cynthia (ohsocynthia), Screweduptexan, Laurie (tipjunkie), Mashelle (one-stop-dream-shop) and many others whose names I didn't get written down because we were promised an invite list so I'm leaving them out of this post (including one of my partners that called herself the homeschooling housewife, but I can't find her blog). It was also incredible getting to cook with all of these ladies with the instruction of Missy Chase Lapine, The Sneaky Chef, and her fabulous recipes using Uncle Ben’s new whole-grain white rice (comes in some great flavors too!). Here’s a pic of all of us at the Milestone Culinary Arts Institute, Viking Cooking School on May 13!  Yes, it was great to take a few hours off of work to spend some time hanging out in the kitchen with all these great women!

We made some great food including Pizza Balls, BBQ Chicken Pizza (pic), Tuna Casserole (pic), and Cherry Chocolate Pudding. Here’s a few pics of these great dishes cooking away in the Viking ovens (so jealous, but I’d rather buy a new car)!

Interested in all the hilarious discussion from the day of the event? Search #unclebens on twitter for all the details and some great pics! I can’t help but include this great pic taken by Missy of Holly, me, Mashelle, and homeschoolhousewife!

Okay, now for the details on Uncle Ben’s new whole grain white rice! It will be available in all markets soon, but you can check this website to see where it’s sold near you! This is a brand new product, so you’ll definitely want to try it! Think of it as hiding all the goodness of brown rice and then some in a white rice look! It tastes great – the Sweet Tomato actually tastes kind of like spaghettios if you eat it plain – had the same texture as white rice, so I think your whole family will love it!

I have two boxes to give away to one lucky reader so you will have a chance to try it out (possibly before you can even purchase it)! I’ll also include copies of The Sneaky Chef’s recipes for use with the Sweet Tomato and Plain rice that we made during the influencer event! This giveaway will end on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 9PM Central.

Disclosure: I wasn’t required to post about the event, but couldn’t help talking about all the fun we had! The event was sponsored by Uncle Ben’s and MomCentral, and we all received some great gift bags with all the new flavors of whole grain white rice! Due to dietary issues, we won’t be using the Sweet Tomato Rice and I grabbed an extra box of the plain white rice so I hope you enjoy my freebies – I’m paying the shipping!  In addition, after I posted this, I was requested to add the following to this disclosure: "I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Uncle Ben's and received the product necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, I received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate."

I can't wait to try the broccoli. I am sure there are tons of things I can do with that!

Hard choice - Creamy Chicken I suppose. We just LOVE almost anything made from rice. Attending the event in Chicago next week and really excited about it now!

I'd like to try the Chicken Uncle Ben's Whole Grain White Rice. They all sound great. I'd serve it with our dinner or make a pot of Chicken and Rice soup.

The Sweet Tomato Rice would be good in a soup also. Good thing my Krogers has it so I can go check it out!

Creamy Chicken ~~ sounds like it would be delicious, and also perk up the same old chicken! (smile).
