Friday's Kid Tested Recipe: Yummy Yogurt Parfaits!

I hate sneaking food into my children's diets, so I thought I would share some of the recipes that I make with my kids (ages 3 & 2)! When kids help cook, they rarely avoid the food because they helped to make it! I'll try to note steps that even the youngest children can help with in the kitchen! This is definitely the recipe for you, even if you don't have kids!  Kids can help with almost all of this recipe, so let them learn after you prep the berries!

Yummy Yogurt Parfaits!

What you'll need to make it!
3 cups vanilla or fruit-flavored nonfat yogurt
1 handfull fresh strawberries, sliced
1 pint fresh blackberries, raspberries or blueberries
1 cup good quality granola or crunchy cereal (like grape nuts or Fiber One Clusters)

How to make it!
Layer 1/3 cup vanilla yogurt into the bottom of a bowl (if you're making it for kids, when making for adults you can make in tall glasses). Alternate layers of fruit and granola/cereal with yogurt until bowls/glasses are filled to the top. Serve immediately to keep granola/cereal crunchy. If you have a super picky eater, you can mix the yogurt and fruit in the bowl and top with their favorite cereal (even if it's Cheerios)!

I had a recipe complete with a photo but I forgot it in my head lol! Check this out. I made chicken strips yesterday and I thought hey I can post it and show it to Beth BUT I forgot to take a picture. You know what that means don't you? Yep I have to make them again lol! I cut up some chicken breasts into tenders and marinated them in yogurt, mustard, and a few seasonings then I rolled them in cracker meal and sprayed them with butter spray and baked them in the oven. Yumsters!

Thanks for the comments...Tamona I am just going to start a guest feature - if you notice I never have pictures of my recipes...my kids gobble them down and I never think to take pictures until the kitchen's a mess and the food is gone!
