Music Review: Five for Fighting - Slice
Back in 2001, unless you lived under a rock, then you would have heard the song "Superman" by Five for Fighting. I actually still hear this song on the radio occasionally. "Superman" was climbing the charts and after 9/11 it became a song of healing for the nation as it was such a emotional and powerful song.
Then in 2004, Five for Fighting released "100 years" which again was yet another inspiring and reflective song. John Ondrasik is the singer and songwiter behind Five for Fighting and he is now back again with a new CD hopefully to inspire and touch its listeners.
"Slice" debuted October 13th and on it John seems to "speak his mind about current issues, experiences and sentiments, while setting those thoughts to piano, bass and drums". John's voice is soothing and calm and when he sings you can actually understand the words, which I liked. Slice includes the following tracks:
Album Tracklisting:
1. Slice
2. Note To The Unknown Soldier
3. Tuesday
4. Chances
5. This Dance
6. Above The Timberline
7. Transfer
8. Hope
9. Story Of Your Life
10. Love Can't Change The Weather
11. Augie Nieto
Tuesday truly touched my memories, but many songs really make you assess the current state of the world, the work of our service men and women, and the simpler days of our past. It's a beautiful CD.
Thanks to One2One Network for providing this great opportunity! Although the MP3 download was provided free of charge, the music review is my honest opinion! Let me know if you have any questions!
