Sometimes Monday mornings aren't so bad...
No matter what, I never like going back to work on a Monday morning after a great weekend, but sometimes the funniest things happen that just make the day a little easier!
At 7:45 this morning, I received a text message that read something like this from my mom who watches our boys:
"To Mama.....there's an animal in the farm little people toy bin! "[end of message]
So thinking nothing of it, I assumed that my son just asked my mom to send me a message and instead of saying hi like he normally does, he decided to tell me there was an animal in the farm little people toy bin....ok - there should be animals with the little farm set...guessing my mom took it the same way at the time!
a few minutes later, I received the next message that read something like this:
"Mama....it's alive, it's alive!"[end of message]
I decided I had to call at this point just to find out exactly what this meant! After about five minutes discussing the shear terror on my son's face (he's 3) when he reached to grab what he thought was a toy lizard from the plastic toy bin and was scared when it ran from his reach and ran downstairs screaming "It's alive, it's alive"...now if you have young kids, you can probably draw the mental image of a frightened little boy, standing in his big kid Thomas undies pointing at the toy bin to a tiny little gecko screaming "It's alive"! We have about ten of these living in and around our garage, and I guess one of the little guys decided he needed an adventure so headed to the second floor and managed to get stuck in a plastic toy bin.
(For a little background, we live in Texas, and although it's a standard neighborhood, there are undeveloped lots just across the street so we have a few extra critters around. I guess the house was cooler than outside or in the garage, so the little albino gecko had moved into my son's closet!)

I have one of these guys in my house now - and the little bugger keeps getting away! Last I saw him, he ran underneath my bed and disappeared. I'm surprised that one of my 4 dogs hasn't yet gotten a hold of him!
