Is it hearing loss, an infection or just playing a game?

Three is such an awesome age...so many things changing, but they also get smarter! I don't think a 3-year old could play hearing loss in one ear for a full week though, so he's scheduled to go to the doctor on Friday (assuming the doctor can get back from a European vacation - go figure!). Anyone else have this issue with their children this time of year? It's allergy season, could it just be swelling? could it just be earwax? He's having a hard time with it, and I think he's getting tired of us yelling so he can hear! He even asked for a speaker in his ear this afternoon so he could hear better...almost heartbreaking! Hopefully it's nothing! Let me know if you've been through it too!
