Friday's Kid-Tested Recipe: Yummy Breakfast Sandwich!
I hate sneaking food into my children's diets, so I thought I would share some of the recipes that I make with my kids (ages 3 & 2)! When kids help cook, they rarely avoid the food because they helped to make it! I'll try to note steps that even the youngest children can help with in the kitchen!
Although my recipes are kid-tested, they are normally enjoyed by adults too! So dig in even if you don't have kids!
My youngest is a salty food for breakfast kind of kid! He'll pass on pancakes any day of the week, so we are always looking for great breakfast options for him that are easy to make!
1 egg scrambled
1 Toasted English muffin (whole wheat for additional nutrients)
1 Slice of Cheese
1 Slice Turkey Bacon, cooked, or 1 piece of Canadian Bacon, cooked
How to put it together!
Scramble egg in skillet or microwave*
FILL english muffin with egg, cheese and bacon - top with ground pepper to taste (if desired).
* to cook an egg in the microwave, find a bowl about the same size as your english muffin, spray lightly with cooking spray, scramble your egg in the bowl and cover with paper towel. Place bowl in microwave for 1 to 2 minutes depending on microwave power level - egg will likely fit perfectly on your english muffin this way!

What a great idea! Mine is a little young for any cooking (or food at this point, LOL). I will keep this in mind for later.
