Life Lessons, Purple Toes, and Shoes for the Needy - My Purple Toes by Blair Hahn
We were able to add this wonderful book to our naptime story selection! My Purple Toes has an upbeat storyline and fun pictures that our 2 and 4 year old loved! As a parent, I love how a light-hearted and humurous children's board book about a father with purple toes teaches children to accept themselves and others for who they are both on the inside and outside. It's not always what's on the surface that counts when you meet someone, and Blair Hahn has made the topic easy to discuss as he teaches kids to get to know someone and their story before making judgements in My Purple Toes. My children loved finding Dad's purple toes throughout the book and the frog that hides on every page as well as listening to the story and asking questions. It's a great story about never taking life too seriously and not forgetting to have fun which I think we all seem to forget with our busy schedules!
Blair Hahn was inspired to write "My Purple Toes" after a trip to the nail salon with his teenage daughter when he boldly had his toenails painted purple after a few jokes with the salon staff. In addition to a wonderful storyline, sales of My Purple Toes will support Soles4Souls to give back to children in need so it's a win-win situation all around. This board book is geared towards children aged 1 to 5 years.
