We truly believe that reading is the foundation for so much of what happens in your educational growth in life, so if you were to walk into our house you'd notice that the playroom shelves are half-filled with books of every shape, style, texture, and story style!  I'm always amazed at how many great new books we are still able to find for our kids to expand their horizons and allow them to learn through reading and spending that quality time together.  Free Spirit Publishing has so many great titles and doesn't just stop at books!

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to review some selected books, CDs, and even a travel game with our kids and I can say that my boys were so excited when the box arrived!  My youngest was not so happy about Pacifiers Are Not Forever, but it's a great story about giving up the binky...he just isn't quite ready to give it up at nighttime yet!  Free Spirit Publishing also offers some great In a Jar games, we received the Treasure Hunt for Primary Ages and have had so much fun playing this game with our two boys!  They are learning new words and have fun hunting for the items we call out both at home and in the car!

One of our favorite books was "Get Out!:  150 Easy Ways  for Kids and Grown-Ups to Get Into Nature and Build a Greener Future" by Judy Molland!  Get Out! really makes it easy to take a stand as a family, even if it's just on one issue to start living or experiencing an eco-friendly life!

26 Big Things Small Hands Do by Coleen Paratore and illustrated by Mike Reed was another favorite in our house! This book incorporates learning your ABCs into how positive actions can do wonders for the world around them no matter how small they are so this is a great book for toddlers!

We also had the opportunity to review Volumes 1 & 2 from the Kids Ready to Rock CD's!  The music was pleasant and the lyrics were easy to understand, and although my 2 & 4 year olds liked listening to it, I think it's more suited for slightly older kids who will understand the songs more!  The vocabulary words were big and multi-syllable and therefore hard for my kids to really comprehend at their young ages!
