Trading Phrases Wall Decals Review & Giveaway! - CLOSED

We typically use portraits of our family for art in the house but when it comes to the playroom and our kid's bedrooms, we needed something a little more fun!  Fun is all about keeping your family healthy too and sometimes it just takes a little bit of laughter...a few strange looks from friends...and laughs from others to really catch your sense of humor when they come over for a play date (at least that's what we're going for here)!

We were given the opportunity to choose one of the many wall decals from Trading Phrases and it took a long time to narrow it down, but since we've turned our once formal dining room into a playroom it only makes sense to add a little more humor to the mix too!  It is one of the first rooms you see as you enter the house, so a few decorations were needed on the walls!  Here's the final product:

Trading Phrases sends you a sample wall decals to test your skills...and wow was this one easy to apply on my builder flat-white!  I should have read Trading Phrases FAQs! 

Once I lined up and leveled my wall decal, I taped it on with blue painters tape to my semi-gloss wall!

Once I peeled the backing off, I began the pain-staking process that was so easy on the flat paint that is not so easy on semi-gloss (just a warning, but it's clearly written in their FAQs)!  With the provided scraper, I began transferring the vinyl onto my semi-gloss painted red walls!

As you could tell from the final product, it turned out beautifully, but it did take a lot of work to get it to transfer since the decal liked the paper backing more than my wall!  I guess that's what you get when you replace the builder's white paint with semi-gloss!  Anyone with flat paint or that's willing to take the time to apply a decal will have an amazing result and I'm totally ready to apply a wall decal to another wall in my house..this time though, I'm bringing in back-ups so I'm not the only one scraping above my shoulder height for an extended duration!
